It seems that even astronauts need something to do in their free time. Recently an article from Peta Pixel written by Michael Zhang, the article talks about Nasa Astronaut Drew Feustel and his love for racing and race tracks. So much was this passion that even in space the astronaut was able to exercise his excitement by shooting racetracks in his free time from the International Space Station.
He accomplished this feat by using a Full Frame Nikon DSLR camera in conjunction with a massive 800mm lens that was multiplied further using a teleconverter. In the article Feustel discusses the difficulties of shooting at such an extreme distance and how even a small amount off on his end could mean miles away from the picture’s perspective.
Somehow Feustel accomplished the incredible achievement of photographing all of them. These photos have given the world a brand new perspective to view the tracks which would not have been possible except through the dedication, love, and enthusiasm of Drew Feustel.
