Of all of the terms that my group was assigned, I believe that the Term Gatekeeping holds the most considerable interest to me. The ability for one individual to have near absolute power towards others in the content that they are able to view could be and has been catastrophic towards the group that the gatekeeper is suppressing. For example in a political environment, a news source that holds all of the information from its user base holds the ability to withhold information that could substantially change the viewer opinion if they were to see the entire story, instead the news source will hold information hostage to craft what they want the viewer to believe in creating a base of supporters who are 100 percent for them. This creates a very toxic and dangerous environment in both the political world and any other area that this concept is implemented, any form of suppression or censorship in the benefit of the person who holds all of the cards should scrutinize to the highest degree
