Cloud Services

The rise in the cloud and cloud-based services is a relatively new concept when applied to Rogers Diffusion of Innovations. Using the saturation graph, we can see we are only in the infancy of this technology and that it will have a far-reaching and impacting future for us. There are many pros to this form of technology; the ability to connect anywhere and be able to reach your projects, documents, etc.. allows each of us to work more effectively and quickly to get whatever we need to do done. Services such as the Adobe creative cloud have allowed creators near total freedom with constant updates and brand new ways to combine and communicate with other programs that were not possible just a decade ago.

There are also cons with this as well, this

"always online” mentality creates a society that gets faster and faster by the day, and it can be difficult if not impossible to keep up. Another potential con of this new technology is the idea of programs or things normally bought once as a “service” things such as Adobe Premier, Netflix other cloud-based platforms are now a monthly payment service, Corporations say that this is a good thing as they can rely on a constant stream of income on a month to month basis to better fund and update its cloud service but it also creates a hassle on the consumer side of things as the consumer now has to pay on a monthly basis instead of before where they only paid for something once, and they had that product.
